Moose Safari With Snowshoes

For most people, the moose is a symbol of the far north. Yet those who make it to the far north, rarely see the animal - apart from the countless signs on which it is depicted.

Our hotel is surrounded by a fascinating landscape, marked by the large Reisafjord and the steep coastal mountains. Only a few kilometers from our hotel there is a valley, in which many of these elusive animals reside.

To have the best chance, we will open at dawn with snow shoes. We follow a trail, with headlamps when it is dark, to follow the moose.

Along the way we make a campfire and enjoy hot drinks and a snack. If we are lucky, the northern lights will light up above the valley.
