River Boat Tour to Mollisfossen

This boat tour to Mollisfossen takes you to one of the most spectacular areas in Nordreisa.  Mollisfossen is the second highest waterfall in Norway.  The Mollesjohka river falls an impressive 269 meters into the Reisa Valley.  It isn't so easy to experience the great waterfall because its remote location.  The waterfall can only be reached by a long tour by foot or by boat.

The boat tour starts at Saraelv, where the road in the Reisa Valley ends.  After you arrive here, you will be outfitted with life jackets and can make yourself comfortable in the traditional Reisa boat.  These boats are long, narrow and shallow, but make river travel possible for experienced boaters. 

The trip to Mollisfossen takes about 1,5 hours, but it is very scenic.  There are many smaller waterfalls that come down the 300 meter high valley walls, and diverse flora and fauna can be observed.

After arrival at Mollisfossen, there is only a short walk to the base of the falls.  You will have time to enjoy the falls, as well as coffee/tea and a light lunch.

After about 3 hours from the start of the tour, you arrive back at Saraelv. 

The trip is designed for everyone.  Dependent on the weather, waterproof clothing is recommended.  Life jackets and rain ponchos are available.

From Sørkjosen: approx. 5,5 hours
 

Minimum 3 people.  Groups larger than 10 must sign up at least 48 hours ahead of time
