Boat Tour and Hike in Reisadalen

From June to October

During this tour, combined with boating and hiking, you will be able to experience the two most spectacular waterfalls in Reisa Valley.

The traditional river boat tour starts at Saraelv, where the road in Reisadalen ends.  The boats have been used for a long time and are characterized by there long and narrow design.  People who are experienced in using the boats can therefore use them in all types of river terrain in the Reisa valley.  

After about an hour, you pass by Mollisfossen.  This 269 meter high waterfall is the second highest in Norway.  We continue up the spectacular Reisa Valley, with up to 300 meter valley walls and rich flora and fauna. 

The last part of the tour to Imofossen includes a short hike.  An hours walk along the river and up takes you to Imofossen.  Sturdy shoes and good physical condition are needed for the trip.  Imofossen is not as high as Mollisfossen, but at least as spectacular. 

During the boat tour back to Saraelv, you will be served coffee/tea and lunch.

The trip back to Saraelv is approximately 1,5 hours.  The whole tour takes about 7 hours, but you experience the amazing area of the Reisa Valley that is not accessible by car.

The trip is designed for everyone, but good shoes and ability to walk in varied terrain are important for full enjoyment of the trip.  Waterproof clothing is recommended.  Life jackets and rain ponchos are available.
