About The Region Nord-Troms
Reisafjord Hotel is located in the small village of Sørkjosen. There are about 800 residents in Sørkjosen, which is part of the Nordreisa Municipality in the Troms region of Northern Norway.
The hotel lies right next to the small harbor, but 1000 m high mountains are nearby. The E6 runs right through Sørkjosen, making coming and going convenient, and making Sørkjosen a stopping place for traffic headed to and from North Cape.
5 km from Sørkjosen is Nordreisa's center, Storslett. Storslett has received the status of a national park village and lies at the mouth of the 120 km long Reisa River.
Reisa National Park surrounds the headwaters of the Reisa River. The river winds its way from the mountains to Reisafjord through the spectacular Reisa Valley and provides many recreational opportunities including paddling and fishing.
The Nordreisa region is full of beautiful contrasts. Sea and magnificent mountains, as well the wide, flat Reisa Valley characterize the landscape. Snowy winters, with northern lights and 2 months of the polar night, plus midnight sun in the summertime allow for unique experiences throughout the year.
